Message from the Director, Early Warning & Response Directorate

Timely and reliable early warning information is essential for protecting communities from the impacts of disasters. The Early Warning and Response Directorate plays a critical role in monitoring potential hazards and providing information that supports preparedness and early action across the Somali Regional State.

Through continuous monitoring and data analysis, the directorate tracks risks such as droughts, floods, conflicts, and other hazards that may affect vulnerable communities. Early warning information collected from local levels is analyzed and shared with relevant institutions to support coordinated planning and response efforts.

The directorate works closely with government institutions, humanitarian partners, and community structures to strengthen early warning systems and emergency response mechanisms. Effective coordination and timely information help reduce disaster impacts and support the protection of lives and livelihoods.

By strengthening monitoring systems, improving information sharing, and promoting collaboration among stakeholders, the directorate contributes to building safer and more resilient communities across the Somali Regional State.
