Message from H.E. Abdifatah Mohamed Abdi

Deputy Bureau Head

Effective disaster risk management requires strong coordination between institutions, partners, and communities. The Disaster Risk Management Bureau works to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to support preparedness and improve the sharing of information related to disaster risks.

Coordination mechanisms help ensure that institutions work together in a structured and cooperative manner. Through coordination platforms and technical discussions, stakeholders are able to exchange information, share experiences, and strengthen their collective capacity to address disaster risks.

The bureau regularly engages with regional institutions, humanitarian partners, and development organizations to support coordination efforts related to disaster preparedness and response. These partnerships play an important role in improving communication, strengthening cooperation, and supporting responsible planning.

Information sharing is another essential component of coordination. Reliable information about hazards and risks helps institutions better understand emerging situations and take appropriate preparedness measures. Strengthening communication channels ensures that relevant information reaches institutions and communities in a timely manner.

Through continued cooperation with partners and institutions, the bureau works to promote a coordinated approach to disaster risk management. Such collaboration contributes to improved preparedness and supports efforts aimed at strengthening the resilience of communities.

The Disaster Risk Management Bureau remains committed to facilitating cooperation and strengthening coordination mechanisms that contribute to effective disaster preparedness and responsible management of risks across the Somali Regional State.
